Welcome!

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University where I work with Andrew Guess. My work examines how political institutions and policies shape representation, governance, and social outcomes, and what institutional or policy interventions can strengthen democracy and improve citizens’ lives. I use multi-methods to inform my research including observational data, experimental data, primary surveys, and in-depth interviews. My methodological toolkit includes causal inferences, survey experiments, and computational methods. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from University of Colorado Boulder in 2024.

My research has been recognized with the Carrie Chapman Catt Prize for Research on Women and Politics, three awards from the Midwest Political Science Association, and grants by the American Political Science Association.

I grew up in a small town Malout in the state of Punjab in India. I went to pursue B.Sc. in Agriculture and then MBA in Natural Resource Management. Prior to pursuing my Ph.D., I worked in the development and sustainability governance sector in India for World Bank, USAID, and IFAD-funded developmental projects. I share glimpses of my fieldwork here. I continue to work on policy-relevant topics. Most recently, I have worked with International Institute for Environment and Development and The Nature Conservancy.
